Trials

Wellm it's not actually trials, it's the FINALS. CAL has started their AS and A2, and SAM is starting soon. Just posting this up to remind you guys, those of you who are burning the midnight oil, squeezing in last-minute past year papers, cramming in a year's worth of studies into several hours, hoping to regurgitate it perfectly the next morning, SLOW DOWN.

Take a moment to remember that it's not always possible to do all this by ourselves. We can push push push ourselves, "Ok I'm going to stay up till 5 a.m. to study!" and then fall asleep at 11 p.m. We can get ourselves fully prepared for a paper over the weekend, but then have a stomachache during the paper. Or to concentrate on one topic, only to sit for the paper and discover that it doesn't come out at all.

That very thing happened to a new friend of mine. She was a bright student, all prepared for her AS paper in the morning, when over the night she developed some stomach pain. By daybreak, it was so unbearable she had to call her mom to bring her to the hospital. The doctors discovered a tumour in her stomach and she had to undergo surgery to have it removed. She missed the rest of her papers so that she can recover from her surgery.

And I know she's not the only one. Many of us experience these things, where things just don't happen the way we'd like it to. Studying hard for an exam, but getting crap exams after that? I'm sure most of us are quite used to that situation. Being careless on an exam. Mis-reading an essay question and you get a big fat red egg on your paper. Forgetting your pencil lead and the examiner refuses to let you borrow someone else's during an objective paper. Getting a cacat-ed question paper where the last page wasn't printed, and you didn't realise till the last 2 minutes. Man, these things happen.

Basically, what I'm saying is, things don't go according to plan all the time. Not that God means ill of us, but sometimes, these things happen to remind us, hey you're getting a bit ahead of yourself eh? Exams exams exams. Is it worth putting your church aside? Your health? Friends? Family? Things just happen, and rather than cursing and cussing away, there's plenty we can learn from all this. Learn to let go and let God. I remember this Malay saying, "Manusia hanya merancang, Tuhan yang menentukan segalanya" which basically says that we can plan all we want, but what happens ultimately is in God's hands.

I'll end with some verses I'm sure most of you are familiar with, but it's still a verse that provides me with comfort on nights before exams.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Futsal Outing

Heya guys, just wanna inform you all that although this Friday is a public holiday and there's no college, thus no CF too, we're having an outing!

Yeah we'll be heading to Sports Planet Subang for some futsal, and bonding at the same time. A family that sweats together, stays together! (whaddayamean you haven't heard that before?)

Even if you have a bench leg (read: kaki bangku) don't worry, so am I! Those of us who can't kick the ball can simply kick the air. We'll tell them we're practising martial arts. NO LAR. Don't be so self conscious wei. Just go there, sweat it out and have some fun.

Details are as follows:

Time: 10.oo a.m., Friday
Meetup location: Taylor's Subang guardhouse, at 9.30 a.m.

a lesson in obedience

I Will Move the Rock

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and the Savior appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might.

This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, Satan decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man's mind such as: "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't budged. Why kill yourself over this? You are never going to move it."

Thus giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure, these thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man even more. "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort, and that will be good enough."

And that he planned to do until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord. "Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

To this the Lord responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to me, with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewed and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you have done.

"I, my friend, will now move the rock."

At times when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what he wants, when actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in him...

By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but it is still God who moves the mountains.

God, You call us to obedience everyday. Sometimes, I want to see beyond obedience. I want to know why, how and when. Yet, it is usually long after the obedience that I begin to realize what Your plan was back then. So help me just be obedient for today. I am learning, Lord that by being obedient today, I am stronger for tomorrow. In Jesus' Name, AMEN!

recently a friend of mine used an analogy to describe what she was going through, she said it was as if she just kept climbing out of the dark hole she was in but just as she was so close to the top, she would fall again, and have to start climbing out from scratch. and i just remembered this story again. and i'm not too sure if my theory is correct, but i feel it might be very similar. as she struggles with her issues, she is pushing the rock, getting stronger each time. and similarly, as we face all the difficulties in our lives, we are called to climb, to push, and ultimately to let God bring the victory. :) and you'll discover that the climb is what will bring you closer to God, deeper with Him and give you strength to call out to others in the same dark hole. :)

Change Your World

Pastor Cathryn was back last Friday, this time to share about Change Your World, which is a youth movement which aims to... change your world haha.

She inspired and challenged us to rise up and not just live our lives without any regard for the person on the street. I'm sure we can agree that there's really so much we can do in this world, you only need to see in the daily news, take a walk down your street, and see that there is so much injustice in this world. So many people, whether older people, or even youths like us who are not as well-off, whether financially or physically. That's only in our immediate surroundings. Think then of the people halfway across the globe, fighting for their lives due to war and disease. Yes they may seem far, but they are humans like you and me.

The question to ask ourselves is: what can I do?

World changers don't exactly come out of their mother's wombs with a label 'World Changer' stuck on their foreheads. Pastor Cathryn showed us many amazing videos of youths who decided to step up and do something good, something that started small but then grew to become a global movement, effectively making a positive change in this world.

One particular video that struck me was that of a busy street during a rainy day. A giant tree branch had fallen and blocked the whole road, and the cars simply couldn't move. One small boy saw the situation, saw everyone just seated in their cars waiting for the branch to be moved, but no one actually doing anything. He dropped his schoolbag and started to try to push the branch out of the way. Everyone was shocked to see him do that because he was only one person, but then more and more joined him, and finally the branch was removed.

Sometimes, we look at the world, or even just Malaysia, and we tell ourselves, things will never change. But change starts with us.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. -Edmund Burke

You might have heard this quote before, but once again it is not of use to just hear it and not do anything. YOU can make the difference.

So anyway, Change Your World Quest has the objective of inspiring and supporting those individuals who do want to make a change in this world. Why don't you check out the Change Your World blog here to know more.

There will be a Change Your World concert on the 4th of September 2010 in Sunway Convention Centre, with awesome music, media and message. Come and be inspired! Passes are RM20, but Taylor's College Christian Fellowship is subsidising RM5 for Taylor's students who wanna go, so it's only RM15 and whoa! You get a free CD too. the good samaritan

HI PEOPLE!!! :)

sorry for the late update! last friday we were really blessed to have Pastor Cathryn from Eaglepoint Church come and share with us! She quoted Luke 10:25-37 which spoke on 'defining who our neighbours are'. She brought up many thought-provoking ideas on the matter that made us rethink our attitudes really.

In the story, the priest walked by the injured man without even looking, and the Levite was "a little more kepo" and went to see him, but walked away anyways. So when most of us read the story, we figured that we were more like the Samaritan man than the other two. But then Pastor Cathryn challenged us, asking how many of us watch the terrible things on the news through television, and can WALK AWAY, unaffected? How many of us can watch floods, genocide, trafficking and abuse happening all over the world, and feel no different? and at that moment, so many of us went WHOA.... never thought about it that way!

Many of us were left with that question, what are we doing as human trafficking is happening while we go through our everyday lives? What are we doing to relieve the plight of others? Do we care enough about the people suffering from malnourishment or poverty around us? I was personally challenged by everything Pastor Cathryn said, but felt like there was nothing much i could do now for these people who need help. So thinking about it, there are definitely some things we can do now, as little as they may seem. What we can do firstly, is PRAY. Matthew 21:22 says that " and all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive." The simplest thing we can do for our brothers and sisters who are suffering around the world now is pray, to really pray as a cf and by ourselves, never giving up on praying even if nothing seems to be moving. Let's persistently keep upholding them to God, believing that one day they will be saved, physically and spiritually.

Also, let's keep a look out for things other things we can do now, even as students, be it volunteer at UNHCR, Tenaganita, or even just helping out with different ministries in church. Maybe if we surrendered just a bit more of our time, we could really make a difference in the lives of others. And the Bible says seek and you will find, so I believe that if you seek to make a difference, you will find many opportunities to be agents of change. But for sure, it won't be easy, but definitely so worth it.

Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, who is in heaven."

Join us next week, same time same place! And prayer meeting is ALIVE too, every morning at 7.40 am in the SAM garden! :) Change begins by prayer, remember that! :D Have a good week people! :)

make YOUR difference

though you've probably read this verse before, read it again, for God may want to tell you something through it this time. :)

" Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ' Come, you blessed of My father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him saying,' Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothed You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, ' Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' "

what are we doing for the 'least of My brethren' today? do we even realize the presence of these people around us? the quiet girl in your class? she may be struggling through family problems. the irritating guy you know? he may be lonely and desperately in need of a friend. see, the thing is, if all these people around us were Jesus, how much differently would we be acting? maybe what we all need to do is to stop looking at ourselves and start looking at others instead. we gotta love them like Jesus and "wash their feet" the way Jesus washed the disciples' feet. we were called to serve others not ourselves. we never know how much difference we could make by the little blessings we give to others. there's a difference only YOU can make in the lives of those around you today, dare you choose to make it?

know what? i'll tell you a secret!!! :) making a difference in someone's life, by doing little stuffs for em, actually makes you HAPPIER. i'm so serious, tried and tested! :D i believe that when giving becomes more of a habit than receiving that you will realize that it truly is more blessed to give than to receive. so today, take up the challenge. make your difference everyday. say hi to a lonely stranger, buy someone a subway cookie (did i mention i love subway cookies? ;P ), tell your family you love them, write someone an encouraging note or just laugh at the complete unfunny joke your friend made. put a smile on the face of others and you'll feel the joy overwhelming you too. believe it! :D sure it may be a random act of kindness, but so what? let's live life riskily and to the fullest each day!!! :)

let us all show others Christ by loving them the way Christ loves us. :)

All The Right Things

Hey guys, CF today was totally POWERFUL. We had Pastor Dave Yeow from Acts Church over to share, and he re-ignited our passion to make a difference while we're still here in college, to dare to stand up and make a stand and to live a strong Christian life, no matter what people say, if we really do want to make a difference.

We're only in college ONCE (discounting those of you who wanna be lecturers but haiya it's not the same la) and let's not live life with regrets, all the 'what if's', thinking how you would live your life differently if you could go through college again, how you wouldn't be wasting your time at the AC pool centre everyday, how you could have made a difference and impacted the lives of your family, friends and lecturers.

There was a lot we took back from CF today, so hey! If you're missing out on it, join us next week, same time, same place as the green picture thingy above. And hey do bookmark this page so it's easy to check updates from time to time.

daily dose of inspiration

hi everyone!!! :) here's one of my favourite stories that you may or may not have heard before, but either ways, do take a moment to read and think about it! there may be new things for you to learn from it. ;)

Three Trees

Once there were three trees on the hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams with one another when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver, and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyonce can see my beauty."

The second tree said," Someday i will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."

The third tree said, "I want to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. When people look at me on the top of the hill, they will look up to my branches and think of the heavens, and of God and how close i am to reaching Him. I will be the greatest tree of all and people will always remember me.

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came to the trees.

When one came to the first tree, he said, "This looks like a strong tree. I should be able to sell it to the carpenter." So the woodsmen cut it down. The tree was happy cause he knew that he would be made into a beautiful treasure chest.

When another came to the second tree, he said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think i can sell it to the shipyard." The woodsmen cut this tree down too, and it was happy because he thought he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came to the third tree, he was afraid because he knew that if he was cut down, his dreams would not come true. But the woodsmen cut him down anyways, for no special purpose.

When the first tree reached the carpenter's, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he wished for.

The second tree was cut into a small fishing boat. His dream of becoming a mighty ship and carrying kings came to an end.

The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark.

The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day, a man and a woman came to the barn. She gave birth and placed the baby in the hay in the feed box made from the first tree. The man wished he could have made a crib for the baby but the manger would have to do.

The first tree could feel the significance of this event and knew that he held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men went into the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were on the water, a great storm rose and the second tree was afraid that he was not strong enough to keep them safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said "Peace" and immediately the storm stopped.

At this time, the boat knew that it had carried the King of Kings in his boat.

Finally someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill.

When Sunday came, the tree realized that it was strong enough to stand on the top of the hill and be closer to God than he ever dreamed possible, for the Lord Jesus was crucified on him.

Are you the feed box today, completely given up on your dreams? Or are you the fishing boat, used only in smooth waters? Or are you the large piece of wood, growing dustier each day? Sometimes in life, we all reach a stop, a phase where we begin to wonder if God is really there, if God is really listening to our prayers. But take heart, He is listening. Not only that, He loves you so much that He wants to do things His way for you, for He knows that His ways are better. Perhaps you didn't get the grades you wanted because God wants you to take a different course. Perhaps you didn't get to go to the party because God wants you to be closer to your family. Perhaps not getting the job you want means a better one is coming. Our God is a God of wonders, and if you just surrender, really let it all go to him, you can be assured that life will never be sweeter. Place your hope in Jesus Christ and watch it blossom to more you than you could have ever imagined.

"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you kne that those jobs needed doing so you are not surprised. But presently He starts to knock the house in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What is He up to? The explanation is that He is making a house that is quite different than the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage; but He is building a palace. And He intends to come and live in it Himself."

Ex-Student's Testimony

Okay, first of all, this is my first time actually handling a CF blog, I'm not sure about yada yada here and there so yeah bear with me. >.< I'm still learning. ^.^

So anyways, today we had a really special speaker, an ex-Taylor's A-levels student, who's now studying in IMPERIAL COLLEGE, London, in his fourth year of medicine currently. Say WOW.

~Woooow!~
Okay good. Haha. Nicholas Ng shared the testimony of his life, it was an awesome and inspiring message, especially to those of us from other faiths and also those of us in the midst of deciding what to do with our lives. We were especially able to connect with what he went through as a student, he was exactly like us: a Taylor's student attending CF many many (ok not that many) years ago, deciding which path to take in life.

It was inspiring how he related how God saw him through, and reached out for him, when his own family thought he was destined for failure. Also, how his mother came to accept Christ through a miracle in the birth of his brother.

And then, how God provided for his family's finances when he decided to study medicine, and what he's doing now as a Christian doing medicine in the UK. It was INSPIRING. I'm sure us SAM, A-Level, ICPU and ADP students are at similar crossroads in our lives: where to study, what to study, what our careers will be like, who will we be in the future. And we were really blessed and inspired by the message!

If you weren't there, now you know you missed out a lot. You still can make it next week! *grins* Haha and the icebreaker before the message was EPIC. Basically it was to do with names of food.

Not going into details here, but everyone was in stitches at the end. Best part was when Shaun was about to be whacked, he was thinking of 'sundae' and yelled out 'Wednesday!' or when he was thinking of 'grasshopper' and yelled out 'Lotus!'

Don't worry, I'm also like 'huh?' right now. Ah well that's it for this week's CF, cya next week.

Camp 2010

Well as you guys might know, we went away for camp from the 23rd to the 25th of July, exactly a week ago.

This year, we headed to Tiara Beach in Port Dickson, Malaysia's largest man-made beach. Well, man-made is really man-made lo, you can't compare it to a God-made beach but yeah it was still kind of cute although it's so small. =P

In the midst of time spent getting closer to God.

It was a great time getting to know others through the WALL (all ye Facebook-deprived people)

Celebrated Shaun Ang's birthday early as well. =P Helping him conquer his fear of clowns.

We went home with a renewed spirit to RUST. (not rust, RUST. Rise Up, Stand Tall)

CF DARE CAMP 2010!!!

Praise the Lord, it was a really awesome experience, with all the Taylorians and some non-Taylorians. TOO BAD FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED OUT. There's still next year =P Phyo Wei Win who actually already completed his A-Levels in June still joined us for this camp, you can too! Next year that is. Muahahaha.

The Resurrection

It's been sitting here for quite some time eh? Hi I'm Jeremy and I'll be the bloggy fella from now until... erm, not sure when. For starters, I'm the vice-president of Taylor Subang's CF so yeah we kind of realised this blog rotting here like an old cabbage, and it's such a waste to leave it so, and my hands are kind of itching to do something so yeah that's why I'm here.

For now, just kind of cleaning up some cobwebs here, don't mind the layout if it's weirrd and messy, wanna get it looking awesome and new-ish soon. Feel free to leave comments and yadayada in the chatbox if you please.

We're in LT7 every Friday, opposite the Orange Room, from 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Even if you have classes till 3-ish, don't worry, we won't bite you for coming late. We'd really love to meet you and get to know you better. So yeah haha. =P (that's my style of writing, get used to it ^.^)

It's going to be a great time of worshipping God and listening to His word!

Icebreaker

For last week gathering,
we have a group of seniors coming back for a time of worship and fellowship.
But that's not all!
We even had Andrew, a student studying in Russia to share with us on how he made a difference in Russia with Christ as his way, truth and his life. It's always good to hear inspiring stories about how God uses His children to do His will.
Although the lights went out in the middle of the gathering, it did not put off the burning desires in Andrew's heart to continue to share with us.

This Friday, we will be having Pastor Guy Rozario from Full Gospel Assembly
to share with us the word of God.

We had a great time in CF last week!
Pastor Nirhal from One Hope Malaysia came and spoke to us
on the story of how blind Bartimaeus received his sight when Jesus healed him (Mark 10:46-52).

Blind Baritmaeus cried out when he heard
Jesus was walking past with his disciples + large crowd.
Many people rebuked him but Bartimaeus shouted all the more.
Then Jesus called the blind man to him and healed him.

Pastor Nirhal gave three powerful statements
1) Jesus makes the difference for those who are in need.
2) Jesus makes the difference for those who cry out to him.
3) When Jesus makes a difference your life, it must show.

Even as we're drawing near the end of the year
and many of us will face crossroads,
let us be reminded again that our ever-awesome God will be right next to us to help when we cry out to Him :) amen?

Despite it being a holiday, there was still CF last Friday!
We had an awesome time of just praising God and doing CampusRevo :D
Eunice Pui (from IMU CampusRevo) and Jade Tan (from TCPJ CampusRevo) came and shared their stories on how God used them to impact their respective campuses!
Also we had our very own friend, Soon Fei, from our campus to give his personal testimony:

"As some of you may know, I really wasn't living much of a Christian life before the camp. Ask any of my friends, there would be at least one curse or swear word in every of my sentences, and worse, my heart was really dull and cold towards God. During the first day of camp, there was a part of me that did not really feel like going, but anyway, I told myself to just go with an open heart. During the first session itself, I was really touched by God... so much so that I felt really lead to just walk up to the altar and when the pastor prayed for me, I really broke down and cried...a lot. I could tell you guys that camp really just blessed me and brought me back to Christ, I am really thankful for the Lord for His faithfullness and His mercy and grace."

"So, how have I changed after camp? I hardly ever swear anymore, and I'm trying to stop completely! I could get along with my parents really well after the camp. God is just so amazing and is working in me every single day, and I just want to encourage you all to just hang on to Him and never let go no matter what trials or tribulations that may come in your way, and to just stand up and walk with Him again after falling, cause He will never let you go and He will ALWAYS be there to welcome you back, amen? :)" - Soon Fei

here's the Camp checklist and the Bus schedule.

T-shirts, long pants, pants, socks, underwear, bag for dirty clothes
At least 2 dark-colored T-shirts for wet activites.
Modest and decent attire is expected at all times
Inappropriate items include spaghetti straps, mid-riff/belly shirts, backless, strapless tops and skin tight clothing is not allowed.

Hey everyone =)

Last week, Pastoral-intern Dave Yeow from Acts Church came and spoke in our CF!
He shared a simple sermon based on

Romans 13:8 -
"Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."

God loves us, and he showed this by sending Jesus to die for our sins.
No matter what we do, we can never fully repay His love, and therefore we are in debt to love everyone around us. It's something we are suppose to do.

Do you want to see your friends getting saved?
Do you want to see a revival in our campus?
Do you want to witness seeing every corner of campus filled with people praying for one another?

This is possible!
Well, the first step to do that is to love everybody around you! =)
You can pray for a revival too, but remember, actions speak louder than words.

uh-oh
Time does fly eh?
Many of you are having exams now, so continue to trust in the Lord and do your best ya?

We had a fantastic time in CF last Friday! Pastor Sandra from Acts Church came to CF and spoke to us on the topic of 'Overcoming'!

She explained that there are several reasons why we commit sin one of them is that we're fallen beings living in a fallen world. And that's why we need the grace of God and constantly live by faith. Through faith and obedience to God, we can overcome our sinful lives =)

The bible says in Roman8:37,
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Yeap. Pastor Sandra also said that although temptation is everywhere, we don't have to be exploited by it. It's so true! Amen? =D

Moving on. This week in CF, we're going to have a time of open sharing!
So come and listen to testimonies of your friends and do come prepared with a testimony to share too (about 3 mins long) =)
We're going to do this, because by giving testimonies we can encourage one another to do greater things for God.

Also by giving testimonies of God's greatness, we can overcome Satan too! Revelation 12:11. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
So we'll see you this Friday, for another victorious CF! =D

There are 2 events coming up around next week! :) And guess what? Both are Interschool Rallies!! Oh yah, the events are also on the same day, but 2 different places.

One is going to be held in Subang..... (P.U.S.H 09)

And the other is going to be held in Klang..... (Step UP)

I know many of us are not in school anymore. We can still attend the rallies and see how great God can move among the people of this generation. Amen? Let us encourage the students who are helping out in both the rallies and pray for God's guidance. :)

A Map for Life

These are times of change. Every day we face new decisions, newdemands, and new dangers. How are we to find our way safely throughall of these? How are we to guide our families and especially ouryoung ones? There are maps for every part of the world. But isthere a map for the greatest journey of all, Life itself?

A Map for Death?
We enjoy birthdays, but they also remind us that none of us isgetting younger! Sadly, every funeral reminds us: We too willgo where we have never been before. The Bible treats death as thereality it is.
"Death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart." (Ecclesiastes 7:2)
"Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." (Hebrews 9:27)
"You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a while and then vanishes." (James 4:14)
How quickly this one, brief life passes. To ruin it by choosing awrong direction would be a terrible waste. Yet how can we be sureof life's true purpose and direction? How can we be certain thatwe have made the proper preparation for what lies beyond death? Manypeople believe that there is a Map to guide us safely through lifeand death -- The Bible.

Can we call any book -- "The Book?"
How can a book come to have such a title -- "The Book?" As youwill see, the Bible fully deserves that title.

Old Copies
How many ancient copies from the New Testament still exist? Wellover 4000! The oldest of these dates back very closely to the timewhen the New Testament was first written. In these matters, noother ancient book is even near to being like the Bible.

Translation
The Bible was first written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. It hascome into our modern languages through translation. So importantis its message that the Bible (or parts of it) has been translatedinto 2,000 languages. Over 80% of the world's people speak theselanguages. No book has been - and continues to be - translated morewidely than the Bible.

Printing
The Bible was the first book printed for the ordinary people.Year after year the Bible continues to be the "top seller" in theworld. No other book comes close to it.

Honesty
The Bible's complete truth and honesty make it quite different fromother books and writings that record ancient history. The Bibleshows both the good and bad (even the VERY bad) in Israel's greatestleaders. Whether king or slave, rich or poor, man or woman, all weremeasured by the same ruler, "the law of the LORD."

Writing
The Bible was written by 40 men during a period of 1600 years. Sincemost of these writers were not alive at the same time, they couldnot work together in any direct way. Yet the Bible has one continu-ing story flowing through it. It forms a complete, united picture.No other book has been written like this. In the most amazing way,it joins centuries of history with the highest wisdom.

It is not surprising then that well over a quarter of the world'spopulation claims some belief in the Bible. Three great worldreligions claim roots linked with the Bible.

The Writers of the Bible Claimed to Speak from God

In seeking a Map for life, we should open the Bible because of theclaims it makes. Again and again it assures us that it is the pureword of God. Look at these examples from the pages of the Bible:

Moses
Moses said the Ten Commandments were written "by the finger ofGod" on stone tablets (Exodus 31:18). He reported the God spokewith him "face to face, as a man speaks with his friend" (Exodus33:11).

King David
King David said, "The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; Hisword was on my tongue. The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israelspoke (this) to me." (2 Samuel 23:2-3)

Jeremiah
Jeremiah wrote, "The word of the LORD came to me, saying,"... Iappointed you as a prophet to the nations...you must go to every-one I send you to and say whatever I command you..." Then theLord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now,I have put my words in your mouth." (Jeremiah 1:5-9).
There are well over 2000 places in the Bible where the prophets saidthings like:
The Lord said unto me... These are the words of the Lord... This is what the Lord says...
We must seriously ask, "Did these prophets have a bad habit of lying?Or were they speaking the truth, since God really did speak throughthem?"

Jesus
Jesus assured us that these Bible prophets spoke the truth. Jesusrelied on their reports of history (Matthew 12:40; 24:37-39). Hetrusted in all their writings, and taught us to have the same trust(Matthew 5:17-19; Luke 16:17, 29; 24:27,44; John 5:39-47). Jesusquoted often from "the Law and the Prophets." He based His argumentson specific words they used (Matthew 19:5-6; 22:32). When Jesus didthis, He reminded us,
"The Scripture cannot be broken." (John 10:35)
How can Scripture be so fully trusted? Because it comes from God, notmen. Quoting from Moses' writing, Jesus said, "Have you not read whatGOD said to you?" (Matthew 22:31). When Jesus quoted from the Psalms,He said that David spoke "by the Holy Spirit" (Mark 12:36).
Jesus himself claimed to speak from God. Jesus said, "I did not speakof my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to sayand how to say it. I know that His command leads to eternal life.So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say."(John 12:49-50)

Jesus also made this very bold statement of power:
"All authority in heaven and earth has been given unto me; therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:18-20)

The Apostles
The apostles were leaders chosen by Jesus in the early days ofChristianity. Here is how Jesus gave to them His message for allpeople:
"The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of every- thing I have said to you...When He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all Truth..." (John 14:26, 16:13).

Thus the apostle Peter, and those with him, taught "by the HolySpirit sent from heaven" (1 Peter 1:12; also 2 Peter 3:2; Acts 2).The apostle Paul was able to say:
"This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit... What I am writing to you is the Lord's command." (1 Corinthians 2:13; 14:37)
"When you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the Word of men, but as it actually is, the Word of God." (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
Scriptures

The Scriptures are the holy writings from God. Even before the NewTestament was completed, this is how Paul describe the importance ofScripture:
"The Holy Scriptures... are able to make you wise for salva- tion through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God- breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
Paul urged his friend Timothy to be a good student of the Scriptures.Why? Because they are "the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). Theapostles' writings make them even more valuable to all who seek truth,for to the apostles Jesus promised "all truth" (John 16:13). There canbe no doubt what the Bible is claiming to be: The Guide Book, or Map,from our Maker who gave us our special purpose and who calls us tofulfill that purpose.

God, when I received this , I thought...
I don't have time for this..
Then, I realized that this

kind of thinking is... Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.
We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...
Maybe, Sunday night... And, the unlikely event of a midweek service. We do like to have Him around during sickness..
And, of course, at funerals.However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...
Because.. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own.
May God forgive me for ever thinking... That... there is a time or place where..
HE is not to be FIRST in my life.

We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

Here we are in our final week of CF for the Old Committee Members and I feel there's much sadness in the air. Having recalled back on the moments, though as few as they may be, spent together - it was definitely a year I think all of us would never regret.

I believe we're blessed to be able to carry out God's work and to establish His footprints in a busy and hectic place such as Taylor's itself. I believe that God is up there smiling down on us and having a joyful heart in seeing us serve all this while. Not only that, I pray that the new committee finds favour with the Lord and that He will continue to use them and allow them to function as one cohesive unit - united in their desire to serve the God that they all love and worship.

So to the committee members, both old AND new - kudos to you, and let His blessings continue to pour down from the heavens and have them multiplied in all aspects of your lives! Here's to you, and your future in God's hands!

With any luck, our paths shall cross each other in the future. God-willing, we shall continue touching each others lives well into our senior ages. Phwoaaar!

We're rolling back into action again with Revelations in two days time where we'll be having Pastor Michel Wright from Shana Zoe Revival Centre. He's certainly a fun and energetic guy, so don't miss out! You'll be blown away by his spirit and vigor for sure. =)

Now as per usual, you can find us easily by checking the Time and Locale Information to the right of this blog post. Also, our prayer meets are currently still going on in the SAM Gardens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.50AM so do take time out of your mornings to come and pray together and bless others for the day, okay?

Also during this week's meeting, we shall be unveiling your new Organising Committee for Taylor's CF and simultaneously the Old Codgers will be stepping down somewhere during these two weeks. So if you see any of us, wish us good luck!

This month, we will enter into the book of Revelation.

We will be introduced to the book by Pastor Richard Evans from Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. Details are on the right!

Revelation is a book that has been more often than not, misinterpreted. It's commonly known as the 'Doomsday book". We sometimes get too used to the book until we lose focus on the purpose of the book, which is to get us on our feet to step up and save the lost, for the end is near. We always hear that from the pulpit, but do we actually realize how close the end is?

How about the signs from the book of Revelation? Are they mystical signs and wonders that will amaze the world, or are they common disasters and catastrophes that occur in our world today, whether it's in nature, our economy or even in our politics? So when is the end of the world actually?

We have to clarify our knowledge about this book as there are many sides to reading it, none of which cannot be the ultimate truth. But the ultimate truth is, the world is ending, those who do not know Jesus will suffer and we ourselves will suffer in the hands of unbelievers. We need to save the lost before it is too late.

So, let's get geared up for Revelation! I hope my ~~lecture~~ thoughts are helpful.

To mark the end of the month, we're pleased to have Pastor Suresh come down from City Revival Church and share the word on... what else? The wonderful fuzzy feeling of love. =)

This also rounds out the last week for the month and when we come back next week, we're delving into the ominous yet extremely fascinating month of REVELATIONS!

Do come when you can because we have numerous speakers visiting each week to teach us what is in Revelations and how it relates to us and our generation.

Anyway, I'm digressing. Haaa

And to all Cf-ers who wish to volunteer and serve in all manner of ways like worship leading, ushering etc etc - do approach any of us and we'll happily slot you in during one of our CF meetings. Every contribution is most welcome in the eyes of the Lord. =)

As for our Prayer Meetings, it's still going strong on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so do try and make it if you have spare time before classes begin!

We meet at 7.50am in the SAM Gardens where you'll usually find a group of people standing about and goofing off. :D

Last week, we were privillaged to have Elder Kien Yaik from ACTS Church to intro us to the Love Month.

We were blessed to have a full house as we had an attendance of 53 people!!

Elder Kien Yaik challenged us to ask certain questions like

Are the relationships we are entering based on friendship

Do we realize the importance of thinking with our heads and not our hormones?

Are we being ourselves when we are with the person we are with?

Are we following His will?

Overall he challenged us to approach Love in a very godly manner.

Heya, folks!

Sorry for the lack of updates. College has been one busy task five days a week and as you know, the work keeps on piling. But persevere, my dear CF-ers. Trust in God and he will bring you through the worst of storms.

As for this Friday's meeting, we're pleased to have Sunita from Glad Tidings, PJ to come and share a message about physical boundaries and that's all in the theme of Love for February. Warm feeling, innit, love.

Although I suppose it isn't that necessary for me to say, our meetings are always held in Lecture Theatre 7, at 2.30 pm! So do come when and if you can!

For those of you who came to last week's meeting, we had a HUGE turnout and it was really encouraging for us old codgers to see droves of people coming in to worship God! Do keep it up, oh ye of gigantic faith.

Hey hey hey!

Just a short update this week. We have Elder Ken from Acts Church dropping in this Friday. Acts Church is the one that started the AYA Centre just across the main campus next to 7-Eleven. Coming from such an energetic church as this, you should expect his message to be power-packed as well!

So as usual, we'll meet up in LT7 at 2.30pm! Do feel free to come! Oh, and bring your pals too. We'd love to meet them.

Also, don't forget our prayer meets in the mornings at 7.45 am in the SAM Gardens on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! Let's help make the prayer group grow!

My oh my. CF last Friday was amazing, no? For those of you who missed out, boo! You can surely make up for it by making your presence known in tomorrow's session!

We have no speaker tomorrow but we're gonna be doing what we like to call a Care Group meeting. It functions much like a cell group session (if you've attended one before) and we discuss some HOT topic for the month. =D

It's HOT I tell you.

It's so hot, it's the cause for global warming!

The details, as per usual, can be located to the right of this blog. We meet up weekly so it's almost guaranteed you'll see us every Friday! We're your kawan. Haha

For those of you who claim to not be able to make it, just ask yourself one question: What would Jesus do?

Just kidding. But seriously though, by all means do come when and if you can! If whatever you have going on is not that important, do make time for God instead. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone cancelled a meet-up with you so it works likewise, ya know.

Oh and a hearty congratulations to all CAL students who got their results yesterday! Come what may, God has blessed you with results that serve to glorify Him. As such, it is best to give Him praise where it is due.

Hey hey hey!

Guess what's happening this Friday! It's better than a concert, it's better than food, it's better than a phone call from your other half.

It's CF!

Yes, that's right. We're back and rearing to go as we welcome you guys into the continuing adventures of your college lives and the very beginning of it for some others.

As you may know, we CF-ers are a bunch of happy, enthusiastic and sometimes downright crazy bunch of people always on the ready to talk to you and provide help in any way we can. That being said, you should meet us! Promise we don't bite. We just nibble you a bit. Then we let go. Haaaaa. =)

So nibbling down to business, this Friday we have Ps. Jeremy from FGA visiting us again. He previously came last year which was the Friday before the Passion Conference in KL if you still remember.

So for those of you who've forgotten, we have our weekly CF sessions In Lecture Theatre 7 on Fridays.

I'm hoping you guys are still checking back once in a while. Apologies for the lack of updates during the end of the year. I do hope God has reenergized you for the new year. Here's wishing you have a smashing and audacious one ahead!

As we settle back into college, you just know that we'll be back up and running in no time. As such, we're kickstarting our CF Sessions on the (considerably) second week of college. In other words, we start on the 16th January (Friday)!

And just to let you know, There is an event called 'A Night of Praise and Worship' by the Psalmist Generation based in Ipoh that is to be held on the 30th November 2008 at 7.00 pm. The venue has been set at the Bukit Jalil Golf Club.

Ah, and a great part about this event is that refreshments will be served! More like, CHICKEN! That's what our dear Ms Esther told me today. Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. =)

Tomorrow we are happy to have a speaker from City Revival to come and share the word with us. Once again, we don't know who it is. Surprise speaker! This is actually.. quite an interesting thing. You don't know who to expect and it keeps you on edge until the speaker shows up. It does gear us up for God's message, doesn't it?

So do come and be edified with His word. Remember, you can never have too much of Him in your life. He 'owns' you, after all. =)

We have a change of location now. Looks like we're permanently situated at C15! The side banner over there *pokes right* will be changed soon. Different locale, but still the same time and the same spirit! Let God be glorified no matter where we are praising Him!

Heya all : ) Thanks for the confirmations and prayers for the Melaka trip!

We have now 15 confirmed guests who will be heading down to Melaka, enjoying the food (chicken rice balls) and everything else that will come along the way! Due to the small (not too small, just nice!) amount of people, we shall car-pool down instead. This is to save cost from the bus fare, but we will be dividing the petrol cost evenly among the 15 people : )

For those who will be going to Melaka, please be at Taylor's (the guard house) by 7.30am on Saturday. We will head home as soon as we finish dinner at night, so tell your parents to pick you up at Taylor's latest at around 10pm : )

It's a simple thing. What we do is we divide ourselves into smaller groups and basically have a discussion with regards to the topic. It's perfectly okay to digress a little. No restrictions are applied here. We aim to encourage each other as well as learn a bit or two here and there about life and how we should face it according to His word.

Also, any bit of information or personal stories shared will of course remain in the room and it absolutely will not be discussed after our CF at any time. =) Your secrets are safe with us!

So do come, yes. Same place, same time!

As some of you may know, plans are currently underway for a Malacca Day Trip scheduled for the 20th September, which falls on a lovely Saturday. =)

We at the CF, would sincerely like to invite all of you to come and join us on this fun-filled event where we visit the glorious, historical and not to mention, gastronomical city!

Or is it state, what DO you call Malacca? Haha

Feel free to leave your details such as your NAME and CONTACT NUMBER in the comments of this post so that we can liaise with you as quickly as we possibly can!

Do invite your friends along, yes? We're not just limited to only CF members, ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE is invited to come and enjoy themselves in Malacca with us!

Pastor Steven from Calvary Church came and shared the Word with us.

Eventhough he was a little caught up with the parking around SS15, God still used that little time to really impact us CF-ers.

What we learnt:

There are 3 life defining moments and it is when we learn so much about God.

1. God exists

- Just like in the book of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon contemplates life. He wonders what is the real meaning of life and is there more to there than just this meaningless life we live in.

- Many times, we too think like that, and that is when we, like King Solomon, start searching.

-What King Solomon learnt later on, is that even though life is as meaningless as it is, there's more to life under the sun than life above the sun.

- There's a God, a benevolent being, that supersedes all authority and is the Ruler of all creation. He is the main reason we live.

- That is when King Solomon felt that it is only appropriate if the Ruler of all creation takes rule of his life.

The second defining moment is

2. Death is real

- Haven't we not come close to a near-death experience?

- Death is real guys, and there is only two places that we end up to after death, said in the Bible, heaven or hell. As much as we like to live happily and merrily, we have to realize that there is life after death.

- Death is real, not just to you, but to your friends. Are you not aware of the opportunities to show God's love and God's grace when you can? How bout an "I love you, mom" or "here let me help you"? The people around you won't live forever, and you won't know when they will leave you. Neither will you know how long more you'll live.

- What about people that don't know Christ? When will you take the opportunity to show God's love and share God's amazing Son's death on the cross, if not now?

3. We have the liberty and freedom to choose and decide how we would live.

- Don't we all? Choose to live righteously, in God's sight.

- Choose to have a pure heart and clean hands.

- Choose to be God's best.

- It will all be worth it when He says, "well done my good and faithful servant"

Heya, folks!

How's college been so far? All's well I certainly hope. =)

Well for those of you who went MIA last Friday, we found out who was our mystery speaker. Haha.. It was a second comeback for Ps. Victor from City Revival who came and shared what it is to live a Christian Life.

Here's a brief summary of what he discussed:

Being Christians is only the beginning.

God will enter your life and alter it.

God has plans for your life, He is afterall, the author and finisher of your faith.

The Devil will try and distract you, grabbing opportune moments to make you turn away from God.

No matter how far YOU think God is, He's always right there and will never leave you.

He's behind you. ._________.

Age is not an issue!

Four important steps of your faith:

1. Pray

2. Devotion

3. The Word

4. Serving

Now this week... Surprise, surprise. We have Pastor Steven and he's hailing from Calvary Church! Come on and be ready to digest His word as we dive deeper into the passion of God!

Our CF WILL be held in Class B22. I repeat, Class B22 peapole! Mark it down in your calendars or phones, aite?

The LT7 has been booked for Friday. =( Pray, people, pray.

Last note, PRAYER MEETING!! People, do come! Especially since the examinations are just around the corner. It's vital that we all congregrate and pray for each other. Blessings to others eventually come back to you. =)

Hey, fellow CF-ers!

Just a quick note, we're rapidly egggggssspppppaaaanddddiiiinnnngg! Praise God!

Tomorrow's agenda.... we have Pastor ___________ from City Revival coming down to pay us a visit and enlighten us on the Word.

No, his name isn't Pastor '____________' and no, it's not because I don't know how to spell his name. It's just that... well.... we don't really know who's coming down! Honest!

It's a surprise, ya'll! Pray for a good message la! Blessed are those who pray, yo. =)

On a side note, do make it a point to come for our Prayer Meets that we hold every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Hey, that's tomorrow!) of the week. Come and be a blessing to others and others will, too, bless you. :) Now who doesn't like blessings so early in the morning, huh? Come ooooooooonnnnn!

We start at 7.45 in the mornings right in the heart of the SAM Garden (otherwise known as the tropical place outside the Chem Labs). If you can't find us, look for the tell-tale signs of a group of people standing in an irregularly shaped circle either...

A) poking harmless fun at each other and laughing, or

B) bowing their heads with eyes closed and praying.

You'll KNOW it's us. =)

And uh... FYI, there's gonna be a camera in CF tomorrow, so....... look your best!! Your face may just end up on the blog! (Actually... it's highly likely it will. Harharhar! Just look at Rachel. Wheeeeeee!)

Letter From The Underworld.

Hey hey!

So we had our carnival booth last Wednesday selling CHICKEN RICE BALLS and JELLY too!

With God's grace, we managed to sell off our foodstuff and we raked in a profit of RM467! Hallelujah! All profit goes to charity and we're only more than delighted to be able to contribute so much to the charity.

Not only that, but we managed to send out word of Taylor's CF to the college students present on that day as well.

The results of the day? We ended up having a record breaking total of 40 people coming for CF yesterday! Fuuuuuh! And that even included NINE newcomers! Praises to God, eh?

Speaking of which, we were delighted to have the youthful Max from Eagle's Point to come in and share a bit on the Word.

He gave us a brief message with the aid of a powerpoint presentation to help convey the importance of going out and bringing to others the truth that is Jesus Christ, our Saviour.

Then, he concluded his message with a... shocking albeit very surreal dawning of realization that serves to drive us to spread the Gospel. I've uploaded it here for you to watch, in case you've missed it... or you just can't help but watch it again! =)

People, truly it is important for us to not delay as who knows when the people closest to you may be taken away from this world. The Gospel is an important message for everyone to hear, so go out and let them know of His renown!

Cleansing Blood Of Jesus

That was the title of Ps. Ravi's message who came from City Revival last Friday.

Speaking from 1 John 1:5-10,

Here's basically what I had time to scribble down. :)

Confess our sins - we are always walking in the Light.

Even though you have the blood of Jesus Christ on you, it does not necessarily mean this allows you to go out and sin nonsensically and intentionally.

Having the blood of Jesus Christ gives you the right desire and motives to be applied in your life.

We are the REAL free-thinkers - we have the freedom to think unlike those who claim to 'think-freely' but find themselves bound to the world.

Whatever we have, give it to God and put it at His feet, and He will multiply it.

As for this week, we have Pastor Jeremy from FGA coming down to share a message with us.

Sorreh, CF-ers! Lack of updates, I know!

A quick rundown of what's going on TOMORROW.

We have Ps. Ravind from City Revival Church to speak with us. Come with an open heart, people!

As always, we're still on Fridays @ 2.30pm to 4.00pm.

And yes, we have (for the meantime) permanently moved to LT7, opposite the ORANGE Room in TUCMC.

So what happened last week, eh?

For those who missed out, we had our Care Group sessions on Loneliness.

The outcome? We are truly never alone, no matter what the circumstances may be. God being omnipresent as He is, is always there to guide you and act as a shoulder when you're feeling down or if you feel ostracized by your peers.

Never falter and mistaken yourself into thinking that you're isolated and entrapped in solitude when no one's around you. I believe many of us could relate to this throughout our life's journey and it was such a good topic to discuss and enlighten ourselves with.

You are NOT alone. Ever.

Of course, that doesn't mean you should just go about and live like a hermit to the rest of the world JUST BECAUSE you know you're never alone. The Word does tell us to help others in combating the onset of lonesomeness. Reach out to others, and others will reach out back to you.

It seems the nibbling threat actually worked! We had a great attendance this week as more and more people kept on coming in for CF! Wuuuuuuuuuuh!

Not only that, everyone just seemed totally whacked out and hyper last Friday. Karen included. Hahaha =D

Okay, so what went down last Friday that you *AVID CF-ERS* might have missed?

Karen gave us some flashes of her past and how some decisions can impact things greatly. Both GOOD and... BAD. Not all the decisions that we make in the spur of the moment may necessarily be the most correct way in God's eyes. As our hearts act as the Church of God, we should not carry decisions that would serve to drive our hearts away from Him.

Not feeling out of place in college, she gave each of us paper handouts! Oh, sweet joy!

With her message entitled 'Making Godly Decisions: Is It Good Or Is It God?', we happily filled in the handouts as we listened to her speak.

"In the last 6 months, what was some of your most important decisions that you have made? And given that, how certain were you that this was God's decision for your life?" - Karen.

Taking from Psalms 37: 1-9, she taught us briefly how to make Godly decisions that will impact our life in a good way.

1. Do not be envious.

2. Seek God and do good.

3. Delight yourself in the Lord.

4. Commit your way to the Lord.

5. Be still and wait patiently for Him.

6. Refrain from anger.

7. Continue to hope in the Lord.

Also, she gave us some important things to remember when we find ourselves at a crossroad:

1. The enemy is always at work trying to bring you down

2. Everything in this world is permissible, but not everything would be beneficial to you.

3. Always seek Godly counsel as God speaks to us through many different sources of godly wisdom.

So... if this week's CF was any indication, we're just getting stronger and stronger as more people start coming in on Fridays. Don't miss out on next week's CF!

It's Happening... AGAIN!

Hey, AVID CF-ERS WHO NEVER INTENTIONALLY MISS EACH CF SESSION!

*cough cough*

Okay! So what's going on this Friday, you may ask?

We're very excited this week to have Karen from Glad Tidings, PJ to come and lift our hearts out (not literally, of course!) to God.

If ya'll remembered, GTPJ was where THAT *points up* was held. =D

Missed it? One question, WHY?! Don't let it happen next year, okay? It's totally worth your 50 bucks. Or... whatever price they may have to charge next time around.

Anyway, we're also very very very excited to finally have the July intake students to make their presence known and help support our CF community that, together with your little effort will help build the stepping stones in bringing God closer to everyone around us.

So, for all ye July intakers who are reading this blog, stop rolling your eyes and check us out, okay? We promise we won't bite. Maybe a nibble?

CF Last Friday!

Pastor Philip Wee came from Glory Christian Centre last week.

He shared about how we should really grow deeper in our relationship with God. He gave us the illustration of Ruth and Naomi in Ruth 1:15-17 to show us how our life should be like with God.

How many of us would do what Ruth did and said to her mother-in-law, Naomi when Naomi asked her to leave, with Jesus? Where you'd go, I'll go. Would we follow Jesus wherever He wants us to go? How much will we surrender to Him?

And if we were to go, we gotta take vital steps to guide us. His word is there to encourage us and be a light to our path. Prayer is communication with God, asking for help and guidance.

Pastor Wee challenged us of our commitment to Christ. Are we willing to reach out to help those who need hope and love, that only Christ can give? As a Christian Fellowship, we need to grow and we need to get more people who are hurting to know the One True Love.

I think everyone should have attended last week's session, because it was truly something that the fellowship needed.

I believe we are inspired to do more for Christ.

So, bring a friend this week for CF! It's gonna be amazing!

Also, if there's anyone who is interested to worship lead or use your God-given talents in music to help worship lead let us, or more specifically, Chris know!
